A Guilford Connecticut tradition since 1859 

The Guilford Fair Parade will be held this year on Saturday, September 21, 2024, beginning at 10am, rain or shine.

“The first parade was at the first Fair in 1859. It was a grand success, 

featuring 426 yoke of oxen with William Fowler as marshal and moving to the inspiring music of fife and drum. Forty young men rode on horseback, and decorated carts and wagons carried an array of agricultural products.”

To apply to participate in the parade, please click on the Application tab, complete and submit the Application, including the release form, no later than September 1, 2024.

If your unit includes a motorized vehicle, a Certificate of Insurance must also be provided by August 15, 2024. For details, please the read the FAQs tab.

We request marchers be in the Line of March by 9:00 a.m. The spot where your marching unit will assemble can be located by pairing the number your group is e-mailed the week of the parade with the same number that will be written in chalk on Whitfield Street (or a nearby side street) the morning of the parade. Marshals in red vests will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. to help you find your assembly location.
